Campfire by the lake
Christopher Vidal | oil, 2017
This work was inspired by my latest trip to Tasmania. We spent an overnight near a lake in the Western southern region and in the morning I was observing a camp fire on the other side of the lake. The idea came to my mind to change the time of the day for my painting and paint the scenery at night time comparing light and reflections from a full moon and camp fire.
This work was painted using a limited palette building it up using multiple glazes of very thin and transparent paint.
This painting is varnished for protection.
